Day 3 Arenal Volcano - Monteverde

Breakfast. Very early in the morning you will depart to Monteverde. Your 3 hours transfer starts with a bus trip, then continues by a relaxing boat ride through the Arenal Lake, from where you will admire the exotic wildlife that lives within this zone while enjoying the transition from the rain forest to the cloud forest, reaching the best view point of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve and an impressive panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano. The scenic transfer ends on the other side of the Lake, where a bus ride will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is the main highlight of this place. It has a mystical forest containing a great variety of orchids, bromeliads and birds.

    Day 4 Monteverde

Breakfast. These bridges span canyons and drainages, and bring visitors face to face with the upper level of the forest canopy. There are five bridges in total, the longest of which spans around 984 feet. The trails extend for slightly over a mile and a half (2.5 km), making this tour extremely feasible for anyone in moderate shape. The climb is not strenuous or muddy, as the trails are well maintained and generally very flat. Local guides accompany each tour and help visitors learn about native plant and animal species. Biologists now know that about 90 percent of all organisms in a rainforest are found in the canopy. The sun that barely reaches the forest floor strikes treetops with full force, fueling the photosynthesis that eventually results in leaves, fruit and seeds. Since there’s a bounty of good food way up there, animals abound in the canopy as well. Many plants in Montverde’s cloud forests are specially adapted to absorb moisture directly from the ever-present mist. Epiphytes (plants that live on trees in order to reach the sunlight) are plentiful in these forests, adding to the water-gathering ability of the trees. However, the epiphytes are not parasites—they feed off water, dust and nutrients that accumulate around their own roots. Sky Walk is ideal for professors, students, researchers, naturalists, whole families, and the public in general. The climb is not strenuous or muddy, as the trails are well maintained and generally very flat. Local guides accompany each tour and help visitors learn about native plant and animal species.

Day 5 Monteverde - Manuel Antonio Beach

Breakfast. Today you will be transferred to Manuel Antonio in the Central Pacific Coast. It is a very pleasant drive through the mountains. Within a relatively small corner of Costa Rica, tourists can find the excitement and adventure of a vacation in the tropical forest, surrounded by one of the country’s most beautiful natural environments. The natural trails in the park will take you to the interior of the forest to observe the variety of flora and fauna, including white-faced capuchin monkeys, raccoons, species of rodents and birds. Manuel Antonio National Park has 2 of the most beautiful white sandy beaches in the country. It is a romantic place of incredible beauty surrounded by a lush rainforest which imitates paradise. It is a perfect place to spend the day, enjoying the sun and beach, or just lying down in the shade of a tropical tree watched by shy iguanas! Manuel Antonio and the town of Quepos offer different places for dinning or for having fun at night. You can also take different tours, like horseback riding, rafting, sunset cruises, sport fishing and many others.

Day 6: Manuel Antonio  ( Rafting Adventure)

Breakfast. You will be picked up at your hotel to drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to the Savegre River. The road trip to the rafting site offers picturesque views of African palm plantations, little towns, small rivers and jungle. Your guide will gladly tell you all about the thing you see along the way. Occasional stops with be made for bathroom breaks or to take pictures. Upon arriving at the put in spot, you will receive a safety talk and an opportunity to practice before getting into the river. The rafts in this Manuel Antonio tour are built for 6 passengers and guides will travel in kayaks alongside you to ensure your safety. Savegre River delivers class 3 rapids and is filled with bends and turns of excitement. You will spend approximately 2 ½ hours in the raft taming the rapids, taking occasional stops to rest and admire some of the region’s beautiful flora and fauna. Towards the end of this Manuel Antonio rafting tour, the waters become calm and easy, allowing you to take a closer look at birds flying overhead and the colorful vegetation.
