Day 1: San Jose
Upon arrival our representative will meet and escort you to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 2: San Jose Arenal
Breakfast, At indicated time shuttle transfers to Arenal Volcano Area. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 3 : Arenal
Breakfast. Day at leisure to explore the area. La Fortuna is the only town close to Arenal (6 miles ) where you can find a bank, different restaurants and stores. There is plenty of activities and tours you can take in Arenal, including a visit to Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge, rafting tours, horseback riding, canopy, walk on hanging bridges, hiking in the forest and fishing trips(Optional). We suggest to take any of our Optional Tours and Activities in Arenal.
Day 4: Arenal- Monteverde
Breakfast. Very early in the morning you will depart to Monteverde. Your 3 hours transfer starts with a van trip, then continues by a relaxing boat ride through the Arenal Lake, from where you will admire the exotic wildlife that lives within this zone while enjoying the transition from the rain forest to the cloud forest, reaching the best view point of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve and an impressive panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano. The scenic transfer ends on the other side of the Lake, where a van ride will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is the main highlight of this place. It has a mystical forest containing a great variety of orchids, bromeliads and birds.
Day 5: Monteverde
Breakfast. Early in the morning your guide will pick you up at your hotel for a half day Cloud Forest Reserve Tour. Wind-sculptured elfin woodlands on the exposed ridges are spectacularly dwarfed, whereas protected cove Monteverde rainforests have majestically tall trees festooned with orchids, bromeliads, ferns, vines, and mosses. Poorly drained areas support swamp forests, while parts of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, dissected by deep gorges, have numerous crystal clear streams tumbling over rapids and waterfalls. The variable climate and large altitudinal gradient has helped produce an extremely high biodiversity. Spectacular wildlife includes the Jaguar, Ocelot, Baird´s Tapir, Three-wattled Bellbird, Bare necked Umbrella bird and Resplendent Quetzal. Return to the hotel. Balance of day at leisure. We recommend you to enjoy the Skywalk Tour: walking over bridges suspended above the cloud forest and the Skytrek Tour: canopy adventure.
Day 6: Monteverde
Breakfast. Today you will be transferred by shuttle bus to your hotel in San Jose. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 7: San Jose - USA
Breakfast. Our representative will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the airport to take your flight at the indicated time. |
